Congratulations Bailey and Harry on receiving a Highly Commended certificate for the stories you wrote for the Mayor's Writing competition.
Reports - Semester one reports have now been completed and will be sent home with your child towards the end of the week. Please take the time to read them carefully, they should not contain any surprises. If they do please make contact with the class teacher so that you can discuss and understand the reasoning behind the particular report.
Sports Carnival - Thanks to Mr Cameron for his organisation behind a very successful Athletics Carnival held last week. Thanks also to the students from Carroll College who came across and helped out on the day as well as our own House Captains for their organisation of both the Marching and Tug-O-War events. We were lucky with our weather and the smooth running of the day. This week should see the completion of all field events.
Mavis Hayes - Last week we lost a wonderful member of our educational community. Mavis Hayes who was one of our School Patrons passed away on Friday night. Mavis has supported our school since it originally opened and was still active as a community tutor in Mrs Smith's class until recently. Many children over the years have benefited from Mavis's support and intervention. We are so very lucky to have known Mavis and to have had her support and involvement throughout the years. She was a beautiful, stubborn lady and will be so sadly missed. Our thoughts are with her family and close friends.
Holidays - This is the final week for the term and I'm sure a number of people are on countdown for the holidays. Please enjoy the holiday time with family and we will look forward to seeing on Tuesday 18 July when school resumes for term 3.
