The weeks are flying past and life here at school is very busy. Please continue to check the calendar on the school website for important dates and activities.
Last Wednesday we had the first of our 2016 Kindergarten transition sessions. This is the largest group we have had in Kindergarten with nearly 60 little people excitedly joining in activities, having fun and making new friends. Their next transition session will be tomorrow and I look forward to meeting with the parents and carers in the iCentre at 1:30 pm.
Our student numbers continue to grow throughout the school and we will need a demountable next year to accomodate another new class. I an busy at the moment working through the issues around the location for the new demountable. Some families move to new towns at this time of the year. If this is part of your family planning could you please contact the school as a matter of urgency, as a number of families are waiting on vacancies to enrol their children. Even if things are not definite yet, just being aware of the possibility is an advantage in our overall planning process.
During the coming weeks we will be looking at class compositions for next year. We will be having some composite classes as we have done in the past, but the priority will be to ensure that all children will have at least one friend (it may not be their best friend) in their class. If you would like to discuss arrangements for 2016 you are always welcome to phone me or come up and discuss.
During the P&C meeting on Thursday evening, I will be discussing the School Plan and asking for input on future goals and directions. The meeting wil be held in the iCentre and will be our final meeting for the year. Please join us and have some input.
Don't ask kids what they want to be
when they grow up but what problems do
they want to solve. This changes the
conversation from who do I want to work for,
to what do I need to learn to be able to do that.
