Last Wednesday I accompanied the School Captains (Bree, Seth, Stuart and Damia) to the Remembrance Day service at the Tomakin Club, where they represented the school at a short but meaningful service.
The captains were complimented on their manners, high standard of dress and leadership skills.
Mrs Frost and 2F led the Remembrance Day service at school. It was delightful to see so many students participating in the service and to hear the excellent feedback from other staff and the parents who were able to attend the service. Thank you to Mrs Frost and 2F for a very moving service.
Many thanks to the parents who filled out our e-survey on "Mindfulness". The survey closes today and the results will be colated and presented to the P&C.
A large number of staff completed their training in Mindfulness last Saturday when they spent the day learning strategies and techniques to improve their individual practice. I greatly appreciate the personal time and energy freely given up by staff to ensure the professional understanding and delivery of this program. A special thanks also to Jean Watson from "Mindfulness in Schools Project" who delivered the course. Jean who works closely with the research group at Oxford University commented that Broulee was the first school in Australia where all staff had completed the relevant training.
We have started the long planning process for class organisation for 2016. At this stage it appears we will have to establish another class due to the increased enrolment demand. This will impact on our limited classroom space and the need for demountable accommodation. Given the competitive demand for enrolment in 2016, if you know of anyone who is either leaving the school or thinking of requisting a place in the school for the coming year could you please ask them to contact the school as a matter of urgency. If you would like to discuss your child's place next year, you also need to make an appointment with either the class teacher or myself.
