Another performance tomorrow, by the ISER (Illawarra & South East Regional) Ensemble, formerly known as “Southern Stars” will display the talents of students from our Regional High Schools. We hope all students can attend what promises to be a wonderful performance.
On Friday our school will be the venue for a “Science Fair” being organised by the Pre-Service teachers from Wollongong University. I know they have some interesting experiments planned for all students.
Congratulations to all Stage 2 students who sold raffle tickets to help fundraise for their excursion in Term 4. This will be of great assistance to all the students.
Congratulations must also go to the students who competed at the Regional Cross Country last week, especially Jaylah Hancock-Cameron who was third on the day and will now compete at the State Championships in July.
There is an excellent show being held by Questacon at the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club today. It features “hands on” Science experiments between 5pm and 8pm. The cost is $5 per child, $6 per adult or $18 per family with children under 5 being free.
I would recommend this great show to families attend.
Last, but by no means least, we are pleased to announce that Sue Lowe has been nominated, by our school, on behalf of the P&C for the ISER Excellence in Teaching Awards. Sue is a principal of outstanding vision and ability who sets clear goals for teaching and learning. She has facilitated innovative change based on research and high expectations. Sue’s “Bring Your Own Technology” initiative is a path finding program that is being adopted as a model throughout Australia and is attracting international renown. We wish her well with this much deserved nomination.
