Thanks to our wonderful Kindy teachers and parents who joined together to have a delightful pizza get together last Thursday evening. It was a time to relax and enjoy meeting and talking with both staff and other families over a tasty bite or two. I've been assured by our resident pizza maker (Tim MacDonald) that we cooked well over 100 pizzas. Both Tim and Brad Hicks (Elizabeth's dad and teacher extraordinaire from 3H feel that this is just the beginning and that with the help of ex-students from Moruya High School the number of pizzas on our fete day will triple this number. We look forward to checking this out in a few weeks.
At least once a term we will be running a special feature that highlights issues and research around student wellbeing. The first of these features will start next week when we will revisit bullying. Other topics will include student anxiety, gender issues and sibling rivalry. If you have topics that you would be keen to see presented please let us know as the concept of these features is to share information and work together to support our children and we welcome your thoughts and feedback.
We are delighted that are able to bring the "Girls Program" to our senior girls either later this term or early next term. This program was run two years ago and was brilliant, the girls talked about it for some time and are already looking forward to its return.
We are fortunate also to be able to offer a program for our senior boys. We have been looking for some time for a suitable program and while its very different to the type of program the girls will experience it will be just as valuable. The program "RAGE" will be facilitated by personnel from Campbell Page and while it normally runs in high schools it does cater for our targeted age group. More information, and registration forms will be sent out soon.
Bullying & Upstander Program
This term we will revisit the Bullying and Upstander Program and on Friday 16 March we will celebrate National Day of Action for Upstanding.
Please check all of our Class Blogs to see what classes have been doing with Upstanding.
