Congratulations to our infants students and staff for a fantastic Book Week parade and assembly last Friday. The costumes were amazing with such a wide variety of books and characters on display. Well done to 5/6D also for hosting the assembly in t-shirts they designed themselves, featuring their favourite books. It was a great to have so many community members along to support the children at the assembly as well.
Good luck to our Year 5 and 6 performers leaving tomorrow for the Southern Stars performance in Wollongong. They have been practising very hard in the lead up and I know they will all enjoy this amazing experience and represent our school well both on and off the stage. Our school troop will perform their item to the school on Friday 7 September.
Father’s Day Breakfast
We are looking forward to celebrating Father’s Day with our annual breakfast this Thursday 30 August. Breakfast commences at 7:30. If you haven’t ordered, please do so today by following the link in the P&C notice.
NAPLAN Online readiness
This year our school will be involved in NAPLAN Online Readiness Trials. These trials will take place next week and are to test the school’s systems and online connections to be able to conduct the online version in the future. This will be a great experience for the children involved, giving them a chance to practice the format of the tests in the future. Notes will go home to all Year 3 and 5 students about the readiness trials.
In support of the drought relief efforts across the nation, Broulee Public School will be holding a Drought Relief Day on Friday 7 September. Students can dress like a farmer on the day and bring along a donation that will go towards the drought relief fund “Buy a Bail”. On the day, classes will be involved in some bush dancing, learning activities about the drought and will see our Southern Stars perform in the afternoon. It will be a great day in support of this important charity.
