Welcome to a new school year, especially to our Kindergarten families and all new families who have joined our school community for 2017.
It's an exciting time for our school with further growth occurring towards the end of 2016 and at the beginning of this year. This has lead to the establishment of another class and the need for a second demountable. This demountable will arrive on Wednesday morning and be located near the Kindergarten and Year 1 area. Mrs Fairweather and her K/1 class will be the lucky class based here. The additional enrolments will bring our overall population to 370 students.
Staff and Classes:
With the additional new class we have welcomed Mrs Kylie Parker to our school. Mrs Parker has been working in our school for several years in a casual capacity. We also welcome Mr Brad Hicks who is an experienced teacher from Wollongong. Mr Hicks will be replacing Mr Rutter who is working with the curriculum team in the regional office. Mr Hicks will also be working with some of our technology programs and will be working closely with Mr Hounsell. While Mrs Bourke is enjoying her time working in the Northern Territory, Mrs Emma Morgan (not to be confused with Mrs Janelle Morgan) will be enjoying her time onYear 2 and our final new staff member is Mr David West who is experienced in Sport and fitness.

Demountable and Parking:
The demountable will be delivered on Wednesday morning with a handover scheduled for the following Wednesday. During this time staff will have limited access to the teachers car park and there will also be times when parking will be restricted around the Cambridge Cres school entry. We appreciate your patience and support during this time and hope it won't be too frustrating.
This year we have a number of children with a severe nut allergy (anaphylaxis). PLEASE do send any peanuts or nut products to school with your child.
Please remember that all children need to wear their green hat while outside playing in the sun. If they forget their hat they are restricted to playing under the shady areas of the school playground and will not be allowed onto the main playground. The hats must have the broad brim which is why we encourage the school hat. Please ensure that all your child's uniform is labelled with their name but especially their hat. We end up with MANY hats in the "lost property" box, most of which have no names and are in new condition.
In the coming days and weeks you will get many notes sent home with your child. These notes will also be posted on the school app and pushed out to parents. If you don't have the school app I would urge you to download it as it will save you a great deal of time looking in the bottom of school bags for missing information. If you're not sure how to download the app, please don't hesitate to contact the school and we will happily assist you.
