Semester One student reports will be going home today with each student. As a Principal it was pleasing to read through all the reports and to note the progress of various students. Students and staff need to be congratulated on a solid semester of work, commitment and great progress. We are happy to provide additional information if parents require it. Please contact the Class Teacher in the first instance. Following this, I am also available to talk through any questions or concerns.
Congratulations to both Soma Faraday-Kogler and Gabriela Ware who were Southern Division Senior and Junior winners in the Multi Cultural Perspective Public Speaking Competition. Schools from Batemans Bay through to Eden participated in this division. Many thanks to Mrs Takacs who organised our students, as well as hosting the other schools (more to follow in our next Scoop)
NAIDOC Week is officially celebrated from 6 - 13 July, but as this falls within the school holidays, we have been celebrating it this week.
NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It is celebrated in all communities and is a wonderful opportunity to participate in a range of Indigenous activities. The theme this year is:
Serving Country: Centenary & Beyond.
Our students have all been involved in preparing a variety of displays, dances, music, drama, storytelling and art activities. They will be presented later this week at a special NAIDOC celebration.
This Friday - last day of term - will be a Mufti Day.
Students return on Tuesday 15 July.
No Scoop in Week 1.
No assembly in Week 1.
As this will be the last Scoop for term, I would like to wish everyone a happy, healthy and warm holiday. Please enjoy the holidays and we will see you next term on Tuesday 15 July.
