I was proud to be part of our team that participated in the Relay for Life last weekend. Staff put aside family commitments and other responsibilities to join together to raise money for cancer research and to walk in the relay. The weather was kind to us with a few small breezes during the day and although there was a little rain in the early hours of Sunday morning this did not impact on our determined team who merely raised their umbrellas and kept walking.
With some money still to be banked we already have well over $1000 for the cancer council. Its not just about money however, but also about awareness raising for cancer. As a profession that deals on a very regular basis with the impact of sickness and especially cancer within our community this is a simple way that we can acknowledge our support for our families and tell them we want to help in any way we can.
Thanks to the many parents who have paid their school contributions. Although these fees can be paid at any time throughout the year we generally get most families paying by the end of the first term. This year we are still short approximately $2,000 from out total from last year.
If you have not yet paid we would appreciate it as soon as possible. If you get the $$$ to us before Thursday you will still be entered in the draw for the petrol voucher which will be drawn at Thursdays assemberly.
