What a fantastic day we had for our Athletics Carnival last week. It was wonderful to see all the students so keen to enter the events and so many parents and community coming along to encourage them to give it their best effort. This year we endeavoured to complete the majority of the carnival in one day and a congratulations needs to go to Mr Hicks and his helpers for their effort in organising the carnival so successfully. Thank you also to our judges of the March Past which was a great way to start the day.
NAIDOC Week Celebrations
NAIDOC Week is in the first week of the holidays. As a school we are holding class and stage events this week to recognise the importance of this event. The theme for NAIDOC Week this year is “Because of her we can.” To honour that theme, in our hall we have displayed research by the students of significant Aboriginal women. Please take the time after our assembly to look over the learning our students have produced.
On Thursday the school disco will have a NAIDOC theme where children are asked to come dressed in the colours of the Aboriginal flag - red, yellow and black.
Semester 1 Reports
Children will be taking home their Semester 1 Report on Wednesday afternoon. Their reports are a reflection of the learning and application from the first half of the year. They are a great opportunity for parents and their children to discuss their learning, reflect on their achievements and set goals for the rest of the year.
If you have any questions about the reports, please call the school to make an appointment to discuss them with your child’s teacher.
This Friday is the last day of Term 2 and will be a Mufti Day.
Term 3 commences on Tuesday 24 July. Have an enjoyable and safe break
