In today's Scoop I have included a link to a very short survey about our Mindfulness program. Our program is based on the Mindfulness in Schools Project from Oxford University and is very strongly research based. It teaches our children to focus on what they are doing at the moment and not think about what they want to do when they get home or who they want to play with at recess. The research has shown numerous positive findings, but just a few of them show links to improved quality of academic work, reduced stress and better sleep patterns. Our staff have also embraced the program and voluntarily participate each morning and afternoon after school hours. The sessions last from a few minutes to perhaps fifteen minutes.
