Next week our school will be celebrating Education Week. As a school we will focus on Tuesday 29th July as our main "Open Day" with parents, grandparents and friends all welcome from 10:00 am onwards. The day will focus on "sharing what we normally do" so please join us for some part of the day to share 21st century teaching and learning.
Planning for 2015
It seems as though the year has just begun and already we are looking at planning for 2015. Part of such planning involves possible enrolments for the coming year. Kindergarten enrolments are now open and a number of applications have started to arrive. If you are aware of any families who may be interested in possible 2015 enrolments (K-6) please advise them to contact the front office asap. This is especially critical for families who live outside our school zone as there may be some limited vacancies in other grades for 2015. Enrolment forms can also be found on our website.
Sir Ken Robinson
I have included in todays newsletter a link to a recent interview with Sir Ken Robinson. I have quoted this international expert before and in this video clip he discusses the need to cater for all students and discover their individual talents. I hope you enjoy the video clip as much as I did.
Nationally consistent collection of data on school students with disability – 2014
Our school is participating in the collection of nationally consistent data on school students with disabilities and students with learning difficulties.
The data collection will have no direct impact on any students and they will not be involved in any testing process. We will only be collecting information that is already available within the school.
The NSW Department of Education and Communities will provide data to the Australian Government from all NSW public schools in such a way that no individual student or school will be able to be identified. In this way, we will ensure the privacy and confidentiality of all students.
All parents who have a child who may be part of this data collection will be individually contacted by the school. Parents who wish to withdraw their child from this data collection should contact the school. A decision to exclude your child will not affect the support they currently receive.
Further information about the data collection can be found on the Australian Government Department of Education website:
If you have any questions about your child being included in the data collection please contact the school.
